Introduction
JnetPlus is a three-dimensional visualization applet that can be used to display and manipulate graphs and network structures. The JnetPlus scripting language inherited from Jmol/Rasmol project provides a variaty of commands to perform dynamic visualization operations on whole graphs, groups of nodes and edges, or individual nodes.
Getting Started
Get the latest version from the SourceForge web site here, "unzip" the archive on local drive and follow instructions and examples from "Installation" section.
Input data formats
Current version of JnetPlus supports SIF (Simple Interactive Format) and its own format with extended descriptive capabilities: different node's and edge's shapes and colors parameters, special objects implementatation, etc (see Supplement). JnetPlus can also recognize Jmol formats (.pdb, .mol, .xyz, etc.).
Scripting parameters
JnetPlus implements most of the scripting language found in the Jmol tool (see Jmol interactive scripting documentation). Moreover existing set of commands was extended with JnetPlus specific scripts. For a complete listing of the scripting commands which are implemented in JnetPlus see supplement section. This listing gives brief descriptions of the commands.
Styles
JnetPlus supports (through the scripting language) two and three dimensional views with correspondig shapes for nodes and edges, spring embedded layout behavior, and mouse manipulations.
Layouts
Force-directed (spring), tree, and radial layouts are implemented in the current JnetPlus version.
Special objects
JnetPlus gives possibility to assign to each node a specail objects such as "wireframe models", molecular structure, images, etc. and visualize them.
